Here’s your chance to live anywhere for 365 days | Condé Nast Traveller IndiaJune 9, 2021
Where would you live if you could live anywhere for a year? Inspired by the growing flexibility to work and live from anywhere, Airbnb has announced the launch of Live Anywhere on Airbnb. The programme offers 12 individuals (18 years or older) and up to three companions each the opportunity to live in listings on Airbnb for approximately one year.
How it works
After more than a year of sheltering at home, Airbnb is offering travellers a chance to make the world their home. They’re looking for people who are comfortable working remotely, young families, empty nesters and staycationers to name a few, to help inform their understanding of the future of flexible living. Participants should be available for 12 consecutive months from July 2021 to July 2022, 10 of which will include travelling.
Winners will be selected by the panel of interviewers in July. Airbnb will take care of travel and accommodation for the selected participants. Additionally, Airbnb will assist with listing suggestions, local experiences and other requirements during this year of travel.
Once selected, participants will begin their journeys with programming on how to live on Airbnb from travel experts such as The Senior Nomads, and journalist Imani Bashir. For more information, see the Selection Terms.
Are you eligible?
Countries and regions eligible for this programme include Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada excluding the Province of Quebec, Chile, mainland China, Denmark, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and US.
Do note: International homes will be available to Indians depending on the travel restrictions in force at the time (selected participants will begin travelling in September 2021). There’s one small catch: participants themselves will have to be responsible for obtaining visas and travel documents required by different countries.
What’s in it for them?
Aside from being privy to a vast variety of travel experiences, Airbnb will be asking participants to share their experiences with the company to help shape the future of long-term living on the platform.
