With several states now letting travellers skip the RT-PCR test if they are fully vaccinated, the Aarogya Setu app has rolled out an important feature—the mobile app will show your vaccination status. If you are fully vaccinated, your Aarogya Setu logo will carry double blue ticks along with a shield indicating you are protected from the virus. If you’ve only received your first dose, a single tick along with a blue border will indicate a “partially vaccinated” status. The new feature will come in handy if you are travelling to states like Odisha and Nagaland, which allow travellers in if they are fully vaccinated. Delhi will also let flyers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana skip the RT-PCR test if they have both shots of the vaccine.

Here’s how you can update your vaccination status on the app:

  1. Log into your Aarogya Setu mobile app and tap on the “Update Vaccination Status” button
  2. Enter the mobile number you used for your COWIN registration. If you have registered on COWIN with a number different from your own, make sure to tap on the “Update Here” button and enter the mobile number accordingly.
  3. Enter the OTP sent to the mobile number to complete the verification process
  4. The screen will now show you a list of profiles who have been vaccinated under the registered number.
  5. Tap on your profile, confirm your details and your vaccination status will be updated on the app from the COWIN back-end

If you received the second dose of your vaccine just a few days back and don’t see a “Vaccinated” status on your app, there’s no reason to be concerned. Your status will only be updated 14 days after your second dose, so you can be assured that a shield is on its way.
