The Google Pixel 6 Pro has leaked for the second time this month, with this latest leak providing an even more accurate look at the Android phone’s design and features. While nothing is confirmed until Google makes the official announcement, it sure does look like 2021 will be the biggest year ever for Pixel fans.
On May 13, Front Page Tech caused quite the commotion with its exclusive renders of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The renders showcased a smartphone that looked unlike any Pixel previously released, causing some fans to wonder if it was too good to be true. This latest leak not only corroborates what Front Page Tech shared, but it also reveals a couple of new details that weren’t previously known.
This latest reporting comes courtesy of Digit and reliable leaker @OnLeaks, and for the most part, their renders of the Pixel 6 Pro look a lot like the previous ones. The Pixel 6 Pro is showcased as having a multi-tone back — including an orange topside, a white lower portion with an orange ‘G’ logo, and a horizontal camera housing in between that stretches across the entire width of the phone. The front reveals a display with a centered hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, and likely an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Pixel 6 Pro Will Have A Periscope Camera & 6.67-Inch Display
This leak confirms that the Pixel 6 Pro will be the first Pixel with three rear cameras, and while the specs of the sensors are still unknown, it now looks like one of them will be a periscope zoom lens. It’s a technology that’s been seen on phones like the Galaxy S21 Ultra with really impressive results, so the idea of now having it on a Pixel is immensely exciting.
For Pixel fans that were disappointed by the lack of larger options last year, it also appears that the Pixel 6 Pro is marking the return of big Pixels. It’s reported that the phone will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which is a considerable increase from the 6.0-inch display on the Pixel 5. The regular Pixel 6 will be around this year for fans that prefer the small phone life, but the point is that users will once again have the choice of going big or tiny. On a related note, Digit and @OnLeaks report that the Pixel 6 Pro’s dimensions will measure in at 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.4mm, by comparison, meaning the Pixel 6 Pro is shaping up to be a hefty device.
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 6 Pro sometime in October, and judging by what’s now been revealed, it can’t get here any sooner. Last year’s Pixel 5 was (and still is) an excellent device for the money, but it also felt a tad boring compared to some of its competition. Google clearly doesn’t want to make the same mistake with the Pixel 6 Pro, and that’s really great news for fans of the series.
