Sometimes they’re heartfelt, sometimes they’re dramatic and other times, they’re just downright awkward. When it comes to the highly anticipated airport arrival segments on 90 Day Fiancé, these pinnacle moments help set the tone for the reunited couples. Not only are participants reuniting with their significant others but more often than not, they’re making the big move across the globe to start a new life, which always comes with its fair share of emotions.

From late arrivals to missing luggage, these moments have become a staple since the first incarnation of the series premiered in 2014, and here are the most memorable ones to date.

10 Rebecca And Zied’s Awkward Reunion

TLC Fans were introduced to Rebecca and Zied in season 3 of the spinoff, Before The 90 Days. When Rebecca landed in Tunisia, things got off to an awkward start when Zied greeted her by wearing a t-shirt with her face printed on it. However, it pales in comparison to Zied’s even MORE awkward airport landing in season 8 of 90 Day Fiance.

After immigrating to Georgia, Zied is welcomed by his fiance and his daughter and future son-in-law, who are concerned about the couple’s upcoming nuptials. The quartet’s attempt at making small talk is super cringey and full of uncomfortable tension that leaps off the screen. In April 2020, the happy couple tied the knot and hopefully, got past all that uneasiness.

9 Mursel And Anna: Lost In Translation

When 90 Day alumni, Anna and Mursel, met online, they were convinced they found their other half in each other. They’re so sure of their connection that Mursel moves from his home country of Turkey to America, so he and Anna can marry. However, things don’t go as smoothly as the beekeepers had hoped.

It becomes immediately clear to both viewers and the twosome that their language barrier is going to pose some challenges in their relationship. Although they make due using an app, it is clear that sometimes their communication gets lost in translation.

8 Jenny and Larry’s Nerve-racking First Meeting

In Season 1 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, fans were introduced to Larry, who flew from America to the Philippines to meet Jenny, his longtime online girlfriend. After landing, he learns that the airline misplaced his luggage and from there, things get…awkward. Larry nervously fumbles his way through their first in-person conversation and Jenny attempts to calm him down to no avail.

As they leave the airport grounds, he drops a few of his belongings and awkwardly and loudly announces to some nearby spectators that it’s “candy” and “chocolate” for Jenny’s family. Since their awkward initial encounter, the couple have married and are living in the United States, on spinoffs 90 Day: What Now? And 90 Day: Self-Quarantine.

7 Noon’s Emotional and Teary Arrival

In one of the most emotionally fueled arrivals in the 90 Day franchise, New Orleans local, Kyle anxiously awaits for his soon-to-be wife, Noon, who is immigrating from Thailand. The former bartender can’t help but sob through tears of joy and excitement when the two finally embrace after their long separation.

In a series that often questions whether the couples are actually in love or not, there’s no denying that these two are head over heels for one another. As of 2021, the couple is still happily married and just as cute and sweet as the day fans were introduced to them.

6 Tania’s Big Romantic Greeting

When Syngin arrives in New York City by way of South Africa, his fiance Tania brings her friends along for moral support and to help her pull off a romantic welcome for him. Armed with flowers, champagne, and a trail of rose petals, everything appears to be good until an airport custodian comes along with a broom to foil the mood.

Luckily, Syngin lands in just enough time to see Tania’s romantic gesture before it gets swept away for good. It’s arguably one of the funniest moments in the history of the series and also, one of the most candid.

5 Darcey’s Washroom Takeover

After bidding Jesse a dramatic and tear-filled au dieu, Darcey sets her sights on a new romantic prospect, Tom, from England. When she travels across the pond to meet him, she once again launches into full fashionista mode. After landing in London, she turns the airport bathroom into her own personal dressing room. She washes, dries, moisturizes, and even brushes her teeth in the public sink.

After dousing herself in perfume, a prepped, primped and thigh-high boot-wearing Darcey emerges from the stall, all ready to meet the potential love of her life. One has to hand it to her that, no matter what, she always goes the extra mile to make her first impressions memorable.

4 Corey’s Disappointing Arrival

In season 1 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Corey moves from America to his fiance, Evelin’s, home country of Ecuador. After touching down, Corey enters the arrivals gate, excited to finally see the love of his life. Unfortunately, she is nowhere to be found and after calling her, he learns that she isn’t coming to pick him up! Evelin suggests that he take the bus, and Corey, understandably frustrated, still does.

Sure, getting stood up on a first date sucks, but being stood up after moving across the world to be with someone is a whole other ballgame. According to Corey’s social media, the pair is still together so it seems that all is forgiven but perhaps not forgotten.

3 Larissa and Colt’s Flower Fiasco

Since appearing in season 6, Larissa and Colt have become one of the series’ most infamous couples. Before they made headlines, their journey starts when Larissa leaves Brazil for the bright lights of Las Vegas to be with Colt. From the moment she lands, the unapologetic diva complains that her fiance has not brought her flowers to mark the occasion.

Sure, a bouquet would have been a thoughtful gesture but Colt does not give in, even suggesting that paying for parking is sufficient enough. This moment foreshadows the couple’s inability to see eye to eye which results in plenty of fights, disagreements, arrests, and eventually a divorce.

2 Darcey’s Shoe Mishap

Darcey Silva is one of the most well-known 90 Day alums and her appearance on the inaugural season of Before The 90 Days is unforgettable. When she arrives in the Netherlands to meet her online boyfriend, Jesse, she goes to great lengths to make sure she’s looking her best. Dressed to the nines, she wears her most stylish and (more than likely) most expensive pair of Louboutin heels, which end up getting caught in the airport escalator.

Not only does one of the heels get chewed to bits but the fashion mishap ends up breaking the entire staircase! Unfortunately, this is not the Cinderella moment that Darcey hoped for and in retrospect, this moment cements the fact that the now broken up couple never got off on the right foot.

1 Asuelu’s Big Surprise Dance

No matter how many wild or unexpected things happen on 90 Day, fans can all agree that this moment is one for the history books. After starting a family together, Samoan resident, Asuelu leaves everything behind to join his future bride, Kalani, in America. He greets her by singing her “Happy Birthday,” proceeds to remove his shirt, and performs a traditional Saoman dance, as the entire airport looks on. Kalani, attempting to keep a straight face, looks confused and slightly embarrassed by her fiance’s grand gesture.

Asuelu is 90 Day’s resident big kid at heart and always keeps audiences guessing as to what he’s going to do next. Since this shocking moment, the couple has married and expanded their family. Currently, they continue to appear on 90 Day spinoff, Happily Ever After? but this moment is definitely one of their most memorable.
