CHENNAI: Representatives of nine dalit groups and ten other outfits pledged their support to DMK on Tuesday, in the presence of party treasurer M K Stalin and senior leaders like R S Bharathi and M Subramaniam.

According to a release, representatives of dalit outfits Akhila Indiya Ambedkar Makkal Kazhagam, Makkal Desam Katchi, Ambedkar Makkal Katchi, Ambedkar Makkal Kazhagam, Theruora Kudisaivazhvor Munnetra Sangam, Akhila Indiya Makkal Viduthalai Munnani, Makkal Paadhugaapu Kootani, Tamilar Munnetra Kazhagam and Indiya Makkal Katchi met Stalin at the party’s headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, on Tuesday.

Representatives of Puthiya Thalamurai Katchi, All India Hindu Iyakkangalin Kootamaippu, Mutharaiyar Murpokku Sangam, Tamilnadu Gramanikula Munnetra Nala Sangam, Akhila Indiya Nadar Ilaignar Peravai, Indiya Desiya Christuva Katchi, Vanniyar Sangam, Uzhaipalar Katchi and South India Traders and Workers Welfare Association also pledged their support to a DMK-led alliance for the upcoming assembly election.

Dravida Telugu Munnetra Kazhagam, in a separate release, said that its members have decided to join DMK.
