There were 22 contestants for 12 vacancies which arose following the death of members.

Wadiyar, 24. had filed nominations in both BTC and Mysore Racing Club which also went to the polls recently. Incidentally, land for both clubs was granted by the Wadiyars in 1863 and 1891 respectively.

Wadiyar told TOI, “It was a very good show and I’d like to thank members for their support. I’m happy to be part of the club, especially because equine sports are a part of our family legacy. Both race courses were set up on land given by the family. I look forward to carrying on the legacy.”
