Mumbai: A dead leopard was found in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali late Saturday night. The leopard was around 4-5 years old.

N Vasudevan, chief conservator of forests holding charge for the SGNP said the body of the cat was found on the Shilonda trail which begins near the old MAFCO factory where the new leopard rescue centre is located and ends near Ghodbunder road. It is the easiest of all the nature trails and very popular amongst trekkers, especially meant for children.

Vasudevan said there were injury marks on the body though it is yet to be ascertained if it was the cause of death.
