MEERUT: A 31-year-old woman from Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a car at Pallavpuram in Meerut on Saturday, police said.

After the victim’s condition deteriorated, the accused admitted her to a nursing home on the Delhi-Haridwar road and fled, police sources said.

The victim told cops that she had met one of the accused, Nakul, around six months ago when she went to Ghaziabad to see a plot of land with her husband.

Thereafter, they talked over the phone regularly and Nakul proposed marriage to her. He asked her to accompany him to Dehradun for court marriage, she said. The victim was married for 13 years.

She told police that at the time of marriage, she was 17 and her husband was 35 and they did not enjoy a good relationship due to which she was “distressed”.

After Nakul’s proposal, she decided to go with him to Dehradun in his car.

Two other youths accompanied them and the woman alleged that she was gang-raped by the three inside the vehicle, police said.

A case of gang rape has been registered against the accused on the basis of the complaint filed by the woman.

The accused are absconding and efforts are on to arrest them, police said.
